Hasmukh Adhia (IAS:1981:GJ) may be inducted into Prime Minister’s Office as
Additional Private Secretary to Prime Minister ahead of his retirement in November
this year even though he has shown reluctance against
post-retirement assignment and keen to move to a professionally retired life. It is understood that with each passing week Prime Minister Modi would
increasingly be focussing more on political affairs which would require more
bandwidth to run the affairs which would have prompted the idea of revamping the
PMO. Still, several questions appear to have captured the imagination of ‘who’s
who’ at Centre as what kind of revamping it could be and what sort of role
Adhia would be offered in coming weeks.
