New Delhi (07.12.2024): Days after completion of one-year term as Joint Secretary in the Government of India, the New Delhi establishment empanelled Vinay Kumar (IAS: 1999: BH) for holding Additional Secretary rank post at the Centre. Kumar’s empanelment came as the case of a single name being in the list as he missed the first empanelment list notified on 27.05.2024. Some may look at his empanelment as a special case but it is not so.
Reportedly, he completed one year term on Central Deputation as Joint Secretary (Road Transport & Highways) which is considered to be one of the eligibilities for AS-level empanelment. Similarly, a minimum one-year work experience at Director-level in Government of India is now also mandatory for Joint Secretary level empanelment.
Kumar completed one year term as JS at Centre this week and having empanelled he may shortly be elevated (In-situ) from Joint Secretary to Additional Secretary level post.
