Mathew to continue beyond retirement on contract basis

Dr Thomas Mathew (IAS:1983:KL) will continue to serve as Additional Secretary to the President even after his retirement due on May 31, 2016. Mathew will continue on contract basis for period coterminous with President tenure i.e. up to 24 July 2017.
While serving as Joint Secretary, President's Secretariat, Mathew was elevated (in-situ) as Additional Secretary on July 15, 2013.
