As stop-gap arrangement, the NaMo administration gave the additional charge of three departments to serving secretaries. Three secretary rank posts fell vacant on January 31 following the retirement of Rajiv Yadav, Dr TCA Anand and J S Mathur. Accordingly; additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs was given to Prabhas Kumar Jha (IAS:1982:UP). Currently he serves as Secretary, Department of Official Language. The post fell vacant after the retirement of Rajiv Yadav (IAS:1981:AM). Additional charge for the post of Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation was given to K V Eapen (IAS:1984:AM), Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. Dr. T.C.A. Anant (Scientist) vacated the post on Wednesday. Additional charge for the post of Secretary, Ministry of Panchayat Raj was given to Rural Development Secretary Amarjeet Sinha (IAS:1983:BH) Vice Jitendra Shankar Mathur (IAS:1982:MP).
