As 'Indianmandarins' had anticipated in its report dated September 23, 2015 the Search-cum-selection Committee is expected to be constituted shortly for the selection of new CMD, Shipping Corporation of India.
Reportedly, ACC has directed the Ministry of Shipping to seek the concurrence of PESB for constitution of Search-cum-selection Committee for the post of CMD. Once PESB would give its consent the ministry would take search-cum-selection route to fill the post which is scheduled to fall vacant on December 31 this year. Reportedly, the Appointment Committee of Cabinet rejected PESB's recommendation for CMD, SCI wherein Capt B B Sinha (Director, SCI) was selected for CMD on June 29, 2015.
The outgoing CMD, A K Gupta is scheduled to superannuate on December 31, 2015 who took over on January 28, 2014.
