Raipur (20.12.2024): Ever since Vishnu Deo Sai took over as the second tribal Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh on December 13, 2023 the appointment of Principal Secretary to CMwas awaited. The latest bureaucratic reshuffle in Chhattisgarh defines itself with filling up of the long-awaited need gap.
Two days after reparation from Govt of India on request of the Cadre state the Government of Chhattisgarh appointed Subodh Kumar Singh (IAS: 1997: CG) as Principal Secretary Chief Minister.
Singh’s appointment fills up a long-awaited gap in the order of seniority in the Chief Minister’s office as well as state administration at large. The incumbent Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain belongs to 1989 batch of IAS whereas P Dayanand, Secretary to CM, belongs to 2006 batch. Subodh Kumar Singh’s appointment suitable addresses the gap.
It may be underlined that he served in Govt of India as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Food & Public Distribution, DG of NTA and Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Steel.
