New Delhi (20.12.2024): Two days after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will only focus on conducting entrance exams for higher education institutions starting in 2025, and will no longer oversee recruitment exams, the action seems to have been initiated in this regard as the NTA has got three new Joint Director and one Director level officers from various services.
The NTA conducts various tests on behalf of the Department of Higher Education. The agency was not only in controversy but was criticised for paper leakage marring the future of students and raising concerns of parents.  The decision came amid ongoing discussions about enhancing the examination process through technology. Pradhan revealed that the government is exploring the possibility of introducing computer-adaptive tests and tech-driven entrance exams in the near future. The officers are:

  • Archana Shukla (ISS: 2013) has been appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary Level) in the National Testing Agency under Department of Higher Education a period of four years.
  • Amit Kumar (Indian Supply Service: 2014) has been appointed as Joint Director (DS Level) in NTA for a period of four years.
  • Sandip Kumar Mishra (IRS IT 2007) has been appointed as Director in NTA for a period of five years.
  • Shivani (IRPS: 2013) has been appointed as Joint Director in NTA for a period of four years
