Rumours agog about possible faces for BSF, SSB & RPF: Appointments expected today

to whom the NaMo administration would pick for the post of BSF DG. The rumours
are equally strong about the position of DG in Railway Protection Force which
is falling vacant with the retirement of Dharmendra Kumar (IPS:1984:UT) on
September 30. Interestingly, two DG posts
are up for grab this month but virtually the third DG’s post is also under
speculation. The speculation over DG
post of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) emanates from the likelihood of SSB DG Rajni
Kant Mishra (IPS:1984:UP) to be made as next BSF chief. It is widely believed
that in case Mishra (DG, SSB) is made BSF Chief, S S Deswal (IPS:1984:HY) may
be appointed Mishra’s successor in SSB. Deswal is currently serving as Special
DG, BSF. Further, the NaMo
administration is believed to have been gauging the possibility for S. Javeed
Ahmed (IPS:1984:UP) to be made DG RPF. Javeed is currently heading National
Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences (NICFS) as DG; an ADG post
temporarily upgraded to DG level.
