Additional Director General (ADG) rank 1989-batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre Indu Kumar Bhushan has been compulsorily retired even as he was awaiting posting orders.
This follows the acceptance by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs of a state government proposal sent in November last year for the compulsory retirement of the officer.
The order for the compulsory retirement of Bhushan was issued on March 29.
The retirement was given in public interest under the All India Services (death cum retirement benefits) rules, an official said.
The officer has had a controversial career.
A B.Tech degree holder, Bhushan (52), who hails from Bihar, served as SP CID (CB), SP Harijan atrocities, DIG-Traffic, IG rules, IG- administration, ADG (rules) and ADG (jail). He also served on deputation to a UN Mission in Sierra Leone.
In September 2016, he was sent to Jaipur from the National Police Academy, Hyderabad for allegedly questioning the knowledge of Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan during a mid-career training programme.
Bhushan had reportedly opposed the governor during a question-answer session and alleged that his ADC later misbehaved with him after the program. He was immediately relieved from the program and sent to the airport from the academy.
Last year, he leveled corruption charges against the top brass of the state police. He also allegedly abused and thrashed his driver and gunman in 2013.
