Following ACC’s denial for the extension to Bhuwan Chandra Tripathy (CMD, GAIL) beyond July 31, 2019, the public sector headhunter will have to issue a corrigendum soon. It may be mentioned that the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas had on March 05, 2019 proposed to the ACC for his extension. PESB did advertise the post almost 10-11 months ahead of the scheduled of vacancy being put up. While floating the advertisement for the GAIL CMD’s post on May 10, 2019, PESB considered the date of vacancy on February 01, 2020. After the extension was denied, the post virtually fell vacant on August 01, 2019 instead of February 01, 2020. So in such a situation the PESB would soon revise the date of vacancy and would also issue a corrigendum. It may be mentioned that the PESB had put up three board-level positions -- CMD, Director (Marketing) and Director (Projects) -- on offer in the month of May, June and July respectively.
