New Delhi (10.06.2024): Putting rest to every speculation over the NaMO 3.0 government getting weaker, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now being appreciated for the manner in which he handled the coalition and took oath of the office for the third consecutive term which is a short of a record for any non-Congress government.

The number of ministers in the Council of the Ministers in the Modi government has increased from 2014 when the BJP won the simple majority in the Lok Sabha elections. The number had gone further up despite BJP winning more Lok Sabha seats in 2019 but Narendra Modi accommodated more minister in 2024 as the party failed to get the required number of its own however the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is comfortably crossed the simple majority mark. The number of NDA stands around 300 with some more MPs supporting the alliance.

In 2014, Narendra Modi Cabinet took oath of the office on 27.5.2014. There were Prime Minister and 23 Cabinet Ministers, 10 MoS (Independent Charge) and 12 MoS taking the number to 46 including the PM. The number has gone up to 57 in 2019 Narendra Modi Council of Ministers with that took oath of the office on 30.5.2019. Besides Prime Minister, there were 24 Cabinet Ministers, 9 MoS (Independent Charge) and 24 MoS take the number of ministers to 58 including the PM.

The President of India has appointed Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India and on advise of the Prime Minister, the President has appointed the following as members of the Council of Ministers on 09.06.2024. There are 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 MoS (Independent Charge) and 36 MoS making the list to 71. If the PM is added in it, the number goes to 72.
