PM meets 18 Lok Sabha MPs individually: Larger significance?

Has PM Narendra Modi taken matters related to West Bengal Assembly elections in his own hands? Meeting all 18 Lok Sabha MPs from the state individually appears a signal of sort. Political experts say that this is an attempt of giving a clear message that the BJP would contest Assembly elections of West Bengal with its full strength to change the government?

In one of the meetings with MPs of the state, the PM told one of them that winning West Bengal Assembly election is not like any other Assembly election rather it is important for the nation. Union Home minister Amit Shah will be spending two-three days every month in West Bengal. He has already started addressing pro-CAA rallies and PM is also having various programs in the state.

Sources said that for Sangh Pariwar having control over bordering state with huge infiltration coming in is of paramount importance. After winning Assam BJP aims at West Bengal where allegedly huge number of infiltrators have settled and incumbent Mamata Banerjee not taking any remedial measure to check the phenomena.

Reportedly, the PM is asking MPs about the aspiration of people, organisational requirement and governmental assistance. The new team under J P Nadda will have a representative from West Bengal besides the possibility of one more induction in the council of minister if reshuffle or expansion happens. But PM monitoring the situation will keep others on toes.

Is there any match for full-time politics of BJP to part time engagement of Opposition?

By IndianMandarins 23 Nov 2019

What has happened in Maharashtra, no one would have even imagined. This makes the point very clear that it is really impossible to read minds of the duo – PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah – not only in terms of turn of events in the recent past but from the very time the Bharatiya Janata Party had formed the government for the first time at the Centre in 2014 under Modi. Both the leaders are scrupulously involved in full time politics unlike their opponent and they do everything with élan. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that they eat, drink and sleep politics.

To understand the kind of politics they do, having a look at the recent developments is very pertinent when BJP’s own ally Shiv Sena was busy ranting against the party over the issue of its claim over chief minister’s post in Maharashtra. Looking at the hindsight, it appears that the BJP was working on its plans however it looked as if the BJP was intimidated by the SS and got confined to its cells. But it kept silent and had told its leaders to keep patience and they continued with their plans where no one would have imagined.

The full time politics of the BJP leaders had caught the opposition napping many a times. The BJP has brought election narrative to nationalism from various other issues with its full time strategy with one after another move. There is a genre of politicians involved in making money and is involved in many other such things like being lawyers, builders, businessman, corporate lobbyists and what not but Modi-Shah are fully focused on politics of the country from issues Brue refugees to formation of Maharashtra government. They always keep multiple options as if one does not work the other is ready.

The Modi-Shah duo work 24X7 in tandem with each other for politics in India as abrogating Article 370, Balakot strike, surgical strike, demonatisation, GST implementation, NRC, Citizenship Bill, Law against Triple Talaq and the latest being withdrawal of SPG from Gandhis cannot not be done with half baked measures. Do they have any match in the country at least for now?

Maharashtra mayhem: Is the BJP hitting three birds from one stone?

By IndianMandarins 17 Nov 2019

The top leadership of the BJP – PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah – is full time politicians unlike the opposition that wakes up from the slumber when crisis crops up. What could be the next move of the opposition, the BJP leadership plans its answer well in advance and in one such scheme Shiv Sena -- the former ally of the BJP is trapped.

They might be able to install their CM in Maharashtra but the party might become a history in the politics of Maharashtra. The public perception in the state is suggesting so. It is known to everyone that public perception has been key to the success of the BJP from long. Right from the very moment when SS started demanding chief minister’s post not only social media was abuzz but started working in subtle way but in later phases they are openly accusing the Shiv Sena for harming the Hindutva ideology. Similarly the Congress will be harmed for aligning with the SS. If the SS and Congress are sorted out things would be easy for the BJP in the state.

So much so that even Marathies are going against the Shiv Sena that has predominantly a Marathi identity and the community being their core vote bank. An activist working in Navi Mumbai Netra Daoo said that the Shiv Sena is harming the very ideology that was groomed by Bala Saheb Thackrey. Can they tell people of Maharashtra, how would they deal with contradictions of the ideology of Shiv Sena and the Congress.

The BJP leadership is cashing in on very well on the development which apparently seems to be in the spree of marganalising its allies so they follow their dictate. So the SS is stuck in the trap laid by the BJP. “If the Shiv Sena thinks it can revolt and get the people’s sympathy, they really don’t know the public,” said BJP Party President Amit Shah, who understands people’s pulse very well.

The BJP works on the slogan of its incumbent PM that turn adversity into opportunity and his lieutenant Shah is very well executing his plans. If the alliance government of the Congress, the NCP and Shiv Sena is formed, it will collapse out of its own contradictions. This is what the BJP wants as after that the maneuvering of the BJP not only of parties, leaders but people will start.

Daoo said that people especially their voters are so angry with them that the next election is going to very dear for them as they will find it impossible to justify their decision and all such people will fall for the BJP as mid-term election is not ruled out. Even the BJP would not shy away from it. But lot more development is yet to unfold

shah-to-focus-more-on-home-ministry-for-many-unfinished-works

Shah to focus more on home ministry for many unfinished works

By IndianMandarins 16 Oct 2019

Before relinquishing his post as party president by December, BJP president Amit Shah not only wants to train the new president to his style of working but also want major work of the party to be done. Now Shah wants to pay his complete attention of the home ministry where several unfinished issues are to be accomplished.

Shah has announced that he would make way for a new leader to head the BJP after party’s organisational elections are over by the end of this year. Shah wants state organization to be of his choice and by the time elections process of Delhi and Jharkhand will be started if not over.

Tenure of Shah gets over in December this year and it is likely that the present national executive president Jagat Prakash Nadda will be made the fulltime president of the party.

It was expected that Shah will make way for a new leader after being inducted as a Cabinet minister by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his government following ‘one person one post’ but he remained at the helm to complete some unfinished task.  Organisational elections are going on and a new president will assume responsibility in next two months’ time to take care of the party affairs.

with-shah-at-driving-seat,-ss-unlikely-to-get-equal-no-of-seats-in-maharashtra

With Shah at driving seat, SS unlikely to get equal no of seats in Maharashtra

By IndianMandarins 25 Sep 2019

Amid hectic parlays on seat sharing continuing in Maharashtra for Assembly polls, if BJP president Amit Shah is saying that Maharashtra elections will be referendum of Article 370 then he must be saying this for multiple audiences including its allies in the state. The message is loud and clear that the BJP is here to deliver and it will not buckle under any pressure from anyone on anything.

It has been communicated to Shiv Sena by the BJP that it is not ready to concede more than 120 seats to Shiv Sena albeit some fringe benefits of more ministerial births and post of deputy chief minister but term and condition will be of the BJP. During 2014, the BJP was uncertain about its performance in Maharashtra but this time round they are bulging with confidence.

The BJP is working on a formula in which the party and its smaller allies would claim 168 seats leaving 120 for the Shiv Sena. The BJP will give 8 to 10 Assembly seats to its smaller allies and contest on 160-158 seats on its own. Actually the BJP wants to win around 145 seats to gets simple majority of its own which they feel is very much possible in the present circumstances.

But Shiv Sena is insisting for the equal number of seats and also wants to swap some of the seats with the BJP but sources informed that the Shiv Sena being given equal number of seats does not appear to be working out.

modi’s-mission-and-shah’s-action-earn-brand-equity

Modi’s mission and Shah’s action earn brand equity

By IndianMandarins 07 Sep 2019

After the abrogation of Article 370 & 35A, J&K is returning to normalcy. Connectivity is retrieved and restrictions are lifted. The Govt has claimed that not a single casualty has taken place over a period of 30 days.

The flawless execution of ‘Mission Kashmir’ has apparently become the brand equity of Union Home Minister Amit Shah -- the most trusted lieutenant of the PM Modi. The government sorted out several tough tasks be it demonetisation, triple talaq, surgical strike and smashing the special status of Kashmir.

Amid oppositions from within and outside, Modi-Shah has not only nullified its attack but alienated Pakistan with its exhaustive home work before executing its plan. They did not allow the matter to get leaked to anyone at the home front.

There has been a general practice that all party meeting is convened before taking such big decisions but whenever the matter is discussed at all party meeting it is mostly recommended to Parliamentary Standing Committee and always remains in Limbo forever of which women reservation bill is a testimony.

The government played emotional card, divided opposition on the issue of Nationalism, put security arrangements well in place, Valley was cleansed from terrorists. But the government appeared resolute even if it had to evacuate Amarnath pilgrims and tourists in Kashmir facing their ire.

It is not that things remained hunky dory for the duo. The issue of demonetisation is still debatable, GDP has gone down to 5 per cent, cleanliness mission of Ganga proved to be a damp squib, unemployment still haunts the country but Modi-Shah duo take everything to a logical conclusion come what may.

The government neither succumbed to the pressure of political parties nor civil society on any of the issues as mentioned above. Moreover, they are rather preparing road map for J&K to ensure smooth elections in the state. BJP’s organizational structure is working day in and day out to ensure a win. De-radicalisation is another plan on which the government is very serious about in its K plan.
