BJP to organise 750 virtual rallies on May 30

The BJP has plans to organise as many as 750 virtual rallies, a series of programs both online and on the ground to mark its first year in office on May 30. A letter with the PM’s message will be distributed to 10 crore households by booth level workers.

However, the party plans to make it limited to those areas that do not fall under containment zones. The letter in the containment zones will be delivered electronically and on social media platforms. A virtual rally will be organised, as will 1,000 online interactions across the country.

The focus of these rallies will be to carry the message of self-reliance outlined by the PM which will also cover Rs 20 lakh crore financial stimulus package announced to revive the economy. It will also spotlight efforts made by the government to contain the spread of the virus outbreak in the country.

BJP president JP Nadda will inaugurate the anniversary functions with an online address to the BJP workers through social media platforms such as Facebook live.

Congress goes more aggressive against Modi; govt remains unfazed

Congress is constantly putting pressure on the Modi government whether it is on ramping up testing or Rs 1 lakh crore package for MSME sector or asking some measures for migrant labourers or accusing a scam in rapid test kits. But the government is working in its own way unfazed with suggestions and criticism. Moreover, people appear to be in no mood to pay attention, despite more aggression shown by the Congress.

Now former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has come up with allegations of a scam in the supply of rapid test kits to the government to detect coronavirus cases saying it was unbelievable that people were indulging in profiteering from suffering people. Gandhi requested the PM to take immediate action to bring the culprits to book.

Gandhi tweeted: “That any human being would try and profiteer from the immeasurable suffering of millions of his brothers and sisters is beyond belief and comprehension. This scam is an insult to every Indian. I urge the PM to act swiftly to bring the corrupt to justice.”

Earlier he requested the PM to clear ‘bottlenecks’ and ramp up coronavirus testing in the country holding the PM responsible for this delay in the same breath. He said: "Random testing is the key to beating the virus".

India has to scale up COVID-19 testing from present 40,000 to one lakh per day. Experts agree that mass random testing is the key to beating Corona. In India, a bottleneck is stopping us from scaling testing from the current 40,000 per day to 1 lakh tests a day, for which test kits are already available.

Sonia Gandhi demanded a special package for the MSME industry with former Union defence minister A K Antony and former Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal having their own sets of demands from the government. This could be a good tactic on part of the Congress to keep the government on toes.

Maharashtra mayhem: Is the BJP hitting three birds from one stone?

By IndianMandarins 17 Nov 2019

The top leadership of the BJP – PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah – is full time politicians unlike the opposition that wakes up from the slumber when crisis crops up. What could be the next move of the opposition, the BJP leadership plans its answer well in advance and in one such scheme Shiv Sena -- the former ally of the BJP is trapped.

They might be able to install their CM in Maharashtra but the party might become a history in the politics of Maharashtra. The public perception in the state is suggesting so. It is known to everyone that public perception has been key to the success of the BJP from long. Right from the very moment when SS started demanding chief minister’s post not only social media was abuzz but started working in subtle way but in later phases they are openly accusing the Shiv Sena for harming the Hindutva ideology. Similarly the Congress will be harmed for aligning with the SS. If the SS and Congress are sorted out things would be easy for the BJP in the state.

So much so that even Marathies are going against the Shiv Sena that has predominantly a Marathi identity and the community being their core vote bank. An activist working in Navi Mumbai Netra Daoo said that the Shiv Sena is harming the very ideology that was groomed by Bala Saheb Thackrey. Can they tell people of Maharashtra, how would they deal with contradictions of the ideology of Shiv Sena and the Congress.

The BJP leadership is cashing in on very well on the development which apparently seems to be in the spree of marganalising its allies so they follow their dictate. So the SS is stuck in the trap laid by the BJP. “If the Shiv Sena thinks it can revolt and get the people’s sympathy, they really don’t know the public,” said BJP Party President Amit Shah, who understands people’s pulse very well.

The BJP works on the slogan of its incumbent PM that turn adversity into opportunity and his lieutenant Shah is very well executing his plans. If the alliance government of the Congress, the NCP and Shiv Sena is formed, it will collapse out of its own contradictions. This is what the BJP wants as after that the maneuvering of the BJP not only of parties, leaders but people will start.

Daoo said that people especially their voters are so angry with them that the next election is going to very dear for them as they will find it impossible to justify their decision and all such people will fall for the BJP as mid-term election is not ruled out. Even the BJP would not shy away from it. But lot more development is yet to unfold

Some changes in government and organization likely but wait is little long!

By IndianMandarins 02 Sep 2019

More or less the Modi 2.0 government is working smoothly except some trouble on the economic front with GDP coming down to 5 per cent but some changes are likely in the first quarter of 2020 with a new BJP president taking over and some new appointments in the organization. This is the latest buzz in the party.

It is being talked about that some more faces might be inducted in the council of ministers as by the time the PM will have a fare idea about the performance of his ministers and will be able to take a call on them. So in all likelihood some of the names who were in Modi 1.0 and were dropped in the present government and some new faces might be inducted in the reshuffle but that will happen only after January 14, if at all it happens.

Actually some changes in the organization are likely in view of the new BJP president taking over after December 2019 when Amit Shah steps down as president who at the moment having dual responsibility and a new president takes over. The way Jagat Prakash Nadda was not given ministry as he was to be given responsibility in the organization, some ministers might also be moved to the organization whose performance is not up to the mark.

Some other leaders might be rewarded and these changes will be made looking at the political scenario of the country. Someone from the Jammu and Kashmir might be inducted in the organization.

Ten ordinances: Modi Govt 2.0 wants opposition parties' support

By IndianMandarins 07 Jun 2019

The Modi government is trying to reach out to opposition political parties including the Congress by asking their help on around 10 issues of national importance on which it wants to promulgate ordinance. Some of these issues included triple talaq and the issue of reservation in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP leaders also met Congress general secretary and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on June 5, 2019 to seek support of his party on similar issues.

Union minister for agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar, Union minister for parliamentary affairs and MP from Karnataka Prahlad Joshi and his deputy Arjun Ram Meghwal have met Sonia Gandhi to seek her support on these issues as well. Sources informed that the BJP will meet other opposition leaders to seek their support in this regard. Ten ordinances that the government wants to promulgate included the Muslim Women (Protection of Right on Marriage) second ordinance, 2019, the India Medical Council (Amendment) second ordinance 2019, the Companies (Amendment), second ordinance 2019, the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment), ordinance 2019, the Adhara and other laws (Amendment) ordinance 2019, the New Delhi International Arbitration Centre Ordinance 2019, the homeopathy Central Council (Amendment), ordinance 2019, the Special Economic Zone (Amendment), Ordinance, 2019 and the central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre), Ordinance, 2019.

The BJP has majority in the Lok Sabha so passing the bill in the lower house is an issue where it has 303 seats of its own and with allies it has 353 seats. But the BJP is still short of majority in the upper house of Parliament but if the government wants to get it approved from Parliament it definitely needs support from the opposition so the entire exercise of the BJP is to bring opposition on board.

These ordinances need to be promulgated after that they will be brought before the cabinet and once cabinet approves it, they will be sent to Parliament for its approval and that is the road block for the BJP. So the party wants to play safe by taking the opposition along.
