Amid the formalities are being completed to fill four Jt Director-level posts in CBI, dozens of IPS officers are waiting with bated breath for the opportunity to get the posts. Sources indicated that one among them, M M Oberoi (IPS:1992:UT), is out from the race for some unknown reasons despite the fact that senior authorities considered and recommended him as a 'must' for CBI. Many of his peers point out that having served as Director of Cyber Innovation and Outreach in the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) in Singapore, he is an authority in verticals like Digital and Cyber crime. Oberoi is currently posted as Joint Commissioner, Special Cell (PHQ), Delhi Police.
