NHPC Limited has earmarked Rs 4.5 crore to help the people in the vicinity of NHPC power stations/projects to fight the COVID19 pandemic. Reporedly, the Board of Directors, headed by the newly appointed CMD Abhay Kumar Singh, in a meeting via video conferencing discussed with the respective heads of power stations, projects and regional offices of NHPC on various issue related to its implementation. The meeting  was attended by Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects); N K Jain,  Director (Personnel);  M K Mittal, Director (Finance);  Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical).

A total of Rs 4.5 crore (including Rs 1.36 crs contribution by employees) was allotted for carrying out various activities to help the people in the vicinity of power stations and projects of NHPC.

Besides this, the company has developed 40-bedded quarantine centres with the help of government authorities, Reasi, J&K; 17-bedded quarantine centres at Dulhasti Power Station, Distt Kishtwar J&K and 10-bedded quarantine centre with attached bathroom and required accessories at Uri-I Power station, Distt Baramulla J&K.

NHPC hospitals/dispensaries were instructed to provide 24-hrs OPD services. Distribution of rice, flour, biscuit, soap, sanitizer, liquid hand wash, gloves, mask etc has already started under CSR-SD from some of NHPC locations w.e.f. 25.3.2020.
