NBCC: Two board-level positions vacant, no stop-gap arrangement yet

1400New Delhi (03.08.2021): Two critical posts of Director (Commercial) and Director (Project) have been lying vacant National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) for some time. Interestingly, the establishment is yet to make provisions for a stop-gap arrangement by assigning additional charges against vacant positions of Director (Commercial) and Director (Project). Appointment against vacant Board-level positions are subject to the selection process conducted either by PESB or the Search-cum-selection Committee and reasons for the delay in appointment of directors remain self-explained. But a section of stakeholders observes that the absence of a stop-gap arrangement suits the establishment because the EDs functioning under Commercial and Project verticals have been reporting directly to the CMD. Readers may recall that the PESB had on 07.07.2021 recommended the search route to find a new Director (Project). For the post of Director (Commercial), which fell vacant after Rajendra Chaudhary completed his extended term in July first week, the PESB is yet to advertise the vacancy.
