Further relief to Amrapali homebuyers: SC & NBCC in action even during lockdown

Supreme Court constituted a committee under the Chairmanship of Ld. Court Receiver, R Venkataramani, on 09.04.2020, gives go-ahead asking NBCC to call tenders for the execution of three more Amrapali Stalled Projects of Noida-Greater Noida namely; Leisure Park Phase I & II; Leisure Park- River View and Kingswood in Smart City comprising 4489 units in all valued at Rs. 1046 cars. 

Earlier on 18 March and 20 March the Court Receiver gave nod to NBCC for tendering and execution of 9 projects of Amrapali in Noida-Greater Noida assuring timely release of funds. These projects included 08 projects in Greater Noida namely; Leisure Valley Villas, Verona, Adarsh Awas Yojna, Golf Homes, Dream Valley Ph 1 Villas and Phase II; Enchante, Terrace Homes and Tropical Garden in Centurian and Project Crystal Homes in Silicon at Noida- all comprising 27223 housing units worth Rs. 5769 Cr.

NBCC has started the process of tendering for all these projects even during the lockdown period with tenders for 07 Projects namely; Golf Homes, Centurian Park, Leisure Valley Villas, Crystal Homes, Dream Valley Phase-1 (Villas), Dream Valley – Enchante and Leisure Valley- Adarsh Awas Yojana, already floated. Tenders for further projects are in the process of floating and will be invited shortly irrespective of lockdown.  

This apart, execution work of 08 Stalled Amrapali Noida-Gr. Noida projects tendered and awarded earlier (7 at Noida and 1 at Greater Noida), comprising a total of 12169 Units and valuing Rs.634 crore, which has been started by the Company and scheduled to be completed in stages in another 12-24 months.

It may be underlined that Supreme Court, about a year ago, asked NBCC to execute two stalled projects, to begin with namely; Eden Park in Noida and Castle in Greater Noida comprising 618 Houses, which NBCC has already completed and handed over as well.

Thus action has been initiated for construction of a total of 44500 houses (including 618 houses already completed) out of about 46500 houses in Amrapali Project providing huge relief to stressed Homebuyers.

While expeditiously acting upon the issue of resolving the homebuyers’ crisis, the learned Court Receiver on behalf of Supreme Court, however, has also called upon the affected homebuyers to promptly deposit all their pending payments with the designated bank account provided by the SC for successful completion of the housing projects.

Andhra Pradesh CM and NBCC CMD review ‘MISSION BUILD AP’ initiative

The progress of the ambitious ‘MISSION BUILD AP’ was reviewed at the meeting of State Level Monitoring Committee (SLMC) held recently in Vijayawada. The meeting was co-chaired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, and P K Gupta, CMD, NBCC. It may be recalled that the ‘MISSION BUILD AP,’ an initiative of the AP Government, has been entrusted to NBCC. During the meeting, NBCC CMD apprised the CM of various post-study recommendations of NBCC with regard to monetization of the government’s land parcels spread across the state. The CM, while asking the officials to make optimum use of government land, appreciated efforts put in by the NBCC so far and also felicitated NBCC CMD in recognition.

Nigerian President Mahamadou Issoufou and External Affairs Minister of India Dr S Jaishankar have jointly inaugurated Mahatma Gandhi International Convention Centre (MGICC) in Niamey, Niger on January 21, 2020. The landmark project has been completed in a short span of 14 months by NBCC, a Navratra CPSE under Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). This is the first established Mahatma Gandhi International Convention Centre in Africa. Rajendra Chaudhari, Director (Commercial) NBCC was also present at the inauguration event.

Amit Shah lays down foundation stone of DDA's integrated development project

Union Home minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of DDA's TOD-based East Delhi Hub integrated development project, Karkardooma Delhi on December 26, 2019. On behalf of DDA, NBCC will implement the project as PMC and would execute construction of 1630 houses in 42 months with an estimated cost of Rs 1,393 crore.

Other distinguished guests who were present on the occasion included Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal; Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, MP Gautam Gambhir and MLA O P Sharma.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, recently laid the foundation stone of Bharat Vandana Park at Sector 20, Dwarka, New Delhi. Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Hardeep Singh Puri; Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal; Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari; DDA Vice Chairman Tarun Kapoor; NBCC CMD P K Gupta and other senior officials were also present at the occasion. The Multifaceted world-class theme park valuing approximately Rs. 524 crore is being developed by DDA. NBCC, the Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has been appointed as Project Management Consultant for the project from concept to commissioning.

The company has been entrusted with the task of improving the urban landscape of Delhi by developing this sustainable green space with smart features for urban citizens of the city. To be developed over a land parcel measuring about 200 acres at Dwarka Sub-City, the multi-faceted project will be

developed with the theme of ‘Mini India’, showcasing the diverse culture and uniqueness from each State. Furthermore, the environment- friendly infrastructure will also have dedicated space for hosting cultural events, recreational activities, fun area, food courts, etc for visitors.

NBCC signs MoU worth Rs 2000 Cr with OTPC

NBCC (India) Ltd, a Navratna CPSE under Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has recently signed an MoU with Odisha Thermal Power Corporation Limited (OTPCL), Bhubaneshwar. Under the MoU, NBCC will carry out civil construction and various developmental works of Thermal Power Plant of OTPCL valuing approximately Rs. 200 crore. In presence of senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha and P K Gupta, CMD, NBCC, the MoU was signed by N K Shah, Director (Projects) on behalf of NBCC and Bhavani Panda, Chief Executive Officer on behalf of OTPCL.

NBCC (India) Ltd, a CPSE Navratna under MoHUA, has paid its final dividend of Rs 77.14 cr to the government for FY 2018-19 on October 29, 2019. Dividend cheque of Rs 77.14 cr has been handed over to Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for MoHUA by Pawan Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of NBCC.
