New Delhi (13.05.2022): In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Centre on Friday Modi cleared the appointment of 23 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments as follows:
- Susanta Kumar Purohit (IRSEE:1996) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals for a tenure of five years vice Samir K Biswas (IAS:1990:MH).
- Rohit Kumar (IAS:1997:RJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, for an overall tenure of five years up to 24.09.2023. The tenure would be extended for additional two years up to 24.09.2025 vice Sandeep Sarkar (IDAS:1995) by upgrading a vacant post of Director initially for two years.
- Mukesh Kumar Meshram (IAS:1995:UP) was appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years. He replaces Madnesh K Mishra (IRS-IT:1990).
- Pankaj Kumar Bansal (IAS:1997:TN) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, for a tenure of five years with additional charge of the post of Managing Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).
- Ms Anita Shah Akella (IA&AS:1996) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, for a tenure of five years. She will replace Venkata Ramana Murty Kompella (IDAS:1991).
- Eddie Lairinliana Khawlhring (ICAS:1995) was appointed as Additional Financial Adviser & Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Finance), for a tenure of five years. He replaces Nazli Jafri Shayin (IA&AS:1999).
- Rajeev Prakash (IP&TA&FS:1995) was appointed, Joint Secretary, Department of Defence Production for a tenure of five years vice Sanjay Jaju (IAS:1992:AP).
- Angshuman Dey (IFoS:1997:TR) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER), for a tenure of five years.
- Sushil Pal (ICAS:1999) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years vice Saurabh Gaur (IAS:2002:AP).
- Ms Aneeta C Meshram (IAS:1996:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, for a tenure of five years. She replaces Dharam Pal (IAS:1988:UP).
- Dheeraj Sahu (IAS:1996:UP) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Warehousing Development & Regulatory Authority (WDRA), Department of Food & Public Distribution, for a tenure of five years vice TK Manojkumar (IAS:1987:KL).
- BC Joshi (IOFS:1992) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, for a combined tenure of seven years up to 10.01.2025.
- Sanjeev Sehgal (IRSEE:1997) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, for a tenure of five years.
- KR Vaidheeswaran (CSS) was appointed as Joint Secretary & CEO, National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31.12.2025. He replaces NK Sundaray (IAS:1987:OR).
- Senthil Rajan Chokkalingam has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for a tenure of five years vice Ms TCA Kalyani (ICAS:1991).
- Anil Kumar Chhapolia (IRPS:1998) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, for a tenure of five years vice Rajeev S Thakur (IAS:1995:RJ).
- Ms Roop Avtar Kaur (IFoS:2000:JK) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Central Information Commission (CIC) under DoPT for a combined tenure of seven years up to 01.04.2025. She will replace Ms Meena B Sharma (IDES:1992).
- Sushil Kumar Singh (IRSME:1993) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, for an overall tenure up to his superannuation on 31.01.2027. He replaces Satinder P Singh (IPS:1996:HP).
- Piyush Singh (IAS:2000:MH) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, for a tenure of five years in place of Mritunjay Kumar Narayan (IAS:1995:UP).
- Naveen Kumar Shah (IFoS:2000:JK) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development for a combined tenure of seven years up to 11.06.2025 vice Rohit Kumar (IAS:1997:RJ).
- Sunil Kumar Verma (IRSEE:1995) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, for a tenure of five years in place of Hari Ranjan Rao (IAS:1994:MP).
- Himansu Badoni (IRSE:1993) (Civil) was appointed as Executive Director (Projects), National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, for a tenure of five years. He replaces Ashok Kumar Singh (IAS:1999:KL).
- Vijay Bhatia (IPS:1995:UP) was appointed as Joint Secretary (Personnel), Ministry of External Affairs, for a tenure of three years vice Pavan K Rai (IPS:1997:PB).
- Vishal Gagan (lAS:1998:OR), Joint Secretary, Department of Defence to his parent cadre.
- The appointment of Vivek Bhushan Sood (IRSE:1997), dated 24.03.2022, as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM) was cancelled.
