New Delhi (11.08.2023): The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended transfer of four Gujarat High Court judges to four other High Courts. Justice Hemant M Prachchhak, who denied any relief to the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, has been transferred to Patna High Court.

The following are the four judges who have been recommended for transfers to different High Courts:

• Justice Alpesh Y Kogje to the Allahabad High Court;
• Justice Gita Gopi to the Madras High Court;
• Justice Hemant M Prachchhak to the Patna High Court; and
• Justice Samir J Dave to the Rajasthan High Court.

Justice Prachchhak refused to stay conviction and two-year jail term to Rahul Gandhi on his remark "All thieves have Modi surname." Contradictory views appeared on the transfer of Justice Prachchhak as people are linking and looking at its political meaning.
