New Delhi (25.10.2022): A 1992 batch IRS officer Dr Shefali Juneja of India has been unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Air Transport Committee after a gap of 28 years which is a coveted post of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). ICAO is a United Nations specialised agency funded and directed by 193 national governments to support their diplomacy and cooperation in air transport.Dr Shefali was Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation dealing with International Agreements from 2012 to 2019. She was elected as the Chairperson of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aviation Security Committee in September 2021 becoming the first woman to lead this strategic committee.
