Srinagar (03.08.2024): The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has initiated criminal contempt proceedings against a UT cadre IAS officer for harassing a judge over a land acquisition case. Ganderbal Chief Judicial Magistrate Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi recommended such action against the bureaucrat for allegedly not complying with an earlier order and attempting to “personally attack” him “by manipulation and fabrication”. The IAS officer is said to be son-in-law of a Union Minister though having a political connection doesn’t work much in the present regime.
