Mumbai (03.08.2024): The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions increased about a dozen Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre strength in Maharashtra from 317 to 329 officers in a gazette notification. The latest notification means that 12 non-cadre posts where SPS officers too could be posted have now been made cadre posts. Now, these posts will be held by IPS officers.The Maharashtra government had 317 IPS cadre posts, ranging from the state director general of police to deputy commissioners of police. As per the latest notification by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the total number of IPS cadre posts in the state has been increased to 329.
