Hindustan Copper Ltd CMD Santosh Sharma, on 31.07.2019, informed the 52nd annual general meeting of the company that its sales totaled 38,273 tonnes of copper metal during 2018-19 which was the best in the last 9 years. It also recorded healthy profits with a significant contribution coming from exports. The company also achieved ‘Excellent’ grade for compliance of Corporate Governance for 2017-18. In this context, he cited a report of the Department of Public Enterprises. Briefing shareholders about the company's expansion plans, he detailed them about the various projects underway to contribute to the PM's vision of making India a $5trillion economy by 2025. On Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sharma said the Company picked up several projects for the promotion of preventive health care and sanitation and making available safe drinking water, promotion of education and employment enhancing vocational skills and livelihood opportunities, promotion of environmental sustainability, promotion of sports and various rural development projects.
