Hyderabad (09.05. 2023): On the expected lines, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao appointed former Chief Secretary of the state Somesh Kumar (Retd IAS: 1989: AP) as his Chief  Advisor  in the rank of Cabinet Minister for a period of three years.

When on January 10, 2023, Telangana High Court quashed the Central Administrative Tribunal’s (CAT) decision of allocating Telangana cadre to Kumar, the then Chief Secretary of Telangana, he was asked to immediately report to Andhra Pradesh government. Then it was almost certain that Kumar would not continue there for long and would join Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao sooner or later.

Indianmandarins had then reported that possibly he would sought VRS and might join KCR as advisor.
