Amaravati (17.02.2023): Former Telangana chief secretary Somesh Kumar (IAS: 1989: AP) has applied for VRS a month after reporting to the Andhra Pradesh government. Kumar has sent a representation to the chief secretary Dr K S Jawahar Reddy requesting him for VRS. Reportedly, he is likely to join Telangana CM KCR as advisor.
The proposal is most likely to be cleared after taking the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s approval. Kumar reported to the AP government following the high court verdict on January 12. He met the AP CS and reported to duty. He had also met AP CM. Interestingly the state government had not given him any assignment since he reported to duties. The state government had not allocated any post to Kumar only upon his personal request. Somesh Kumar had service till December, 2023.
