Nagpur (03.06.2022): The appeal made by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat to its workers not to look for Shivlinga in every disputed site has infuriated not only its ranks but also caused anger among the larger community members as such. However, his statement is largely welcomed, especially even by those who no less than hating the organization. A big section of the Hindu community on social media reacted very sharply to his statement. Hindu leaders and a big number of community members preparing to contest the Gyanvapi matter and Krishna Janmabhoomi in the court were disappointed with his statement. Some of the Hindu leaders have gone to the extent of saying that such statements will not only harm the RSS but also the BJP as people may drift away from these organizations. But people familiar with the intra-organization politics are of the view that such statements of Mohan Bhagwat is a tug of war between naturalists versus liberals. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale is a naturalist and will ultimately prevail over the policies of the RSS in the days to come. If so then it becomes all the more interesting to watch.
