4046Chhattisgarh government, on Wednesday, effected
the reshuffle of senior IPS officers. Binay Kumar Singh (IPS:1987:CG) DGP, Anti
Corruption Bureau, Economic Offences Wing, SIT and CID. He was Special DG,
PoliceHead Quarters. Earlier several reports indicated that Singh might be
drafted as DG Naxal Operations but springing a surprise the Baghel Govt gave
him critically though politically important portfolios of ACB, EOW at a time
when the state has been witnessing politics over sensitive cases related to the
last regime. Prior to this Singh served in the Intelligence
Bureau for over 16 years. In IB he held the charge of Additional Director
(Technical Operations). Prior to moving on central deputation, he served as
DIG, CID in Chhattisgarh. Further, Giridhari Nayak (IPS:1983) was given
additional charge of DG, Naxal Operations and SIB. Presently, he is DG Prison.
Until now the incumbent State DGP D M
Awasthy (IPS:1986) held the additional charge of DG, Naxal Operations, ACB and
EoW.
