The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoUA), in its letter issued on 09 June 2025 (Monday) instructed its departments and divisions to constitute an Internal Relocation Team (IRT) and designate a Nodal Officer of their Division/Mission/office for coordinating the work of shifting to the new premises. Reportedly, offices housed in Nirman Bhawan will be shifted to new premises by the end of this month. Reportedly space allocation in the nearly completed CCS buildings 1, 2, and 3 are set to begin within the next 7 to 10 days.

The ministry (MoHUA), Land & DO and CPWD hqrs have to submit the names of IRTs and Nodal Officers within 24 hours i.e. latest by forenoon tomorrow (10th June). The timeline targets to fast-track the shifting plans under the chairmanship of the Additional Secretary (Administration), MOHUA.

The new building premises would be provisioned with basic office infrastructure including furniture, NIC connectivity, ICT facilities and basic amenities. Offices have been given a tight timeline to pack up files, documents, machines and electronic devices. 

It may also be underlined that the extensive establishment of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is also housed in Nirman Bhawan.  

Further, Departments and Boards (CBDT & CBIC) under the Ministry of Finance have already submitted their estimated space requirements and provisions. These offices are expecting their shifting to kickstart by mid of July 2025. Not to mention Finance and Home operating out of North Block are expected to be the first to move with full relocation. The South Block evacuation is expected to follow Finance and Home post-August this year. 

Weeks back Ministry of DONER, Inter-State Council Secretariat, India Invest operating out of Vigyan Bhawan Annexe were already relocated to Jodhpur Officers Hostel at Indian Gate.
