The Banks Board Bureau (BBB), headed by former DOPT Secretary B P Sharma, is reported to have recommended 15 EDs to be elevated as Managing Directors (MD) at various public-sector banks.
These fifteen recommendations are based on interactions held by BBB and are subject to various clearances. Further ACC, headed by PM, will take the final decision on in this regard.
Accordingly; names approved by the panel for elevation include M K Bhattacharya (ED, Indian Bank), A S Rajeev (ED, Indian Bank). C V Nageswar (Dy MD, SBI), Karnam Sekar (Dy MD, SBI), Mrutyunjay Mahapatra (Dy MD, SBI), Padmaja Chunduru (Dy MD, SBI), Pallav Mohapatra (Dy MD, SBI), J Packirisamy (Dy MD, SBI).
Anushula Kant (Dy MD & CFO) may be promoted as MD in SBI. She will replace B Sriram who recently joined IDBI Bank as MD and CEO.
Besides, Gopal Murli Bhagat (ED Corporation Bank), P V Bharathi (ED Canara Bank), Atul Kumar Goel (ED Union Bank of India), S Harisankar (ED Allahabad Bank), Ashok Kumar Pradhan (ED United Bank of India) and Ch S S Mallikarjuna Rao (ED Syndicate Bank) have also been selected.
