If some credible sources are to be believed proposal for the appointment of five Railway GMs may shortly be cleared by the PMO. The file was moved to DOPT in the second week of March which is lying with PMO for PM's clearance. Reportedly, Arun Saxena may be appointed as GM, SECR (Bilaspur); Vasisht Johri may be appointed as GM, Southern Railway (Chennai); G C Agrawal may be appointed as GM, Western Railway (Mumbai); Ashwini Kapoor may be appointed as GM, NCR (Allahabad). If some sources are to be believed there are chances that Ashwini Kapoor may face disappointment for reasons. Post of GM, Kolkata Metro is vacant for over three years. Post of GM, Southern Railway (Chennai) had fallen vacant after Rakesh Mishra took VRS w.e.f. January 31 this year. Hemant Kumar had vacated the post of GM, Western Railway (Mumbai) after he made it as Member (Mechanical), Railway Board. Simultaneously, GM (SECR, Bilaspur) Naveen Tandon had moved to Railway Board as Member (Electricals) and GM (NCR, Allahabad) Pradeep Kumar had cleared the deck for the claimants after he became Member (Staff), Railway Board.
