Some of the non-performing ministers in the Narendra Modi cabinet might face the axe in a likely cabinet expansion before the start Budget Session after the recess. The Cabinet is expected to see some new faces mostly from allies. The expansion and reshuffle exercise of the Cabinet will take place after the two-day national executive meeting of the BJP, starting on April 3 in Bengaluru. PDP MP Mehbooba Mufti may get accommodated into Modi Cabinet. Good performers like Jayanth Sinha may be given additional charge of corporate affairs. Najma Heptulla, who will turn 75 soon, is likely to be dropped from the Cabinet and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi might be given independent charge of minority affairs ministry. Shiv Sena nominee Anil Desai is likely to be made MoS with independent charge.
