Ajoy G Mehta (IAS:MH:1984) whose name had been doing rounds for NHAI for quite long has finally got the coveted post of Commissioner, BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation). Currently Mehta served as Principal Secretary, Environment in the state.
In his new stint Mehta succeeds Sitaram Kunte (IAS:MH:1985) who has further been appointed as Principal Secretary of Environment Department, Govt of Maharashtra; a position held by Mehta until 26 April. Kunte's term was scheduled to complete as BMC Commissioner on April 30.
Mehta had marked his contribution as he had brought drastic changes in the power sector in his previous stint with Power. He had effectively implemented the surplus power plan for the state.
