Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Parthasarthi Mitra (IAS:1978:HP), the outgoing Chief Secretary to the Govt of Himachal Pradesh, may get a coveted posting after his retirement.
To begin with, Mitra is being seen as next Chief Information Commissioner of the state, although many bureaucrats across services have applied for the post. Among the aspirants are former Union HRD Secretary Ashok Thakur, P C Dhiman (IAS:1984:HP), former IPS officer Balbir Thakur, RTI Activist Debashish Bhattacharya, State Information Commissioner K D Batish, and Rtd IAS Ajay Bhandari.
In case Mitra somehow misses the bus as CIC, the HP Govt may still ensure a coveted position as Commissioner, Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission (HPPEIRC).
It is learnt that the HP Govt may be keen to compensate a senior of Vidya Chander Pharka (IAS:1983:HP) and a strong claimant for Chief Secretary with HPPEIRC Chief post but he is reportedly not interested in the post.
In fact, the succession planning in the Himachal Govt is quite clear and that clarity itself has made things difficult for the top command of Himachal Govt to execute its plans.
