Amid national outrage over the gang-rape of a 20 years old Dalit woman and hasty cremation in Hathras the Yogi-led govt in Uttar Pradesh transferred six IAS officers.

Navneet Kumar Sehgal (IAS:1988:UP) was drafted as Additional Chief Secretary,  Information Department vice Awanish Kumar Awasthi (IAS:1987:UP). Presently, he is also handling the responsibility of Khadi Village Industries, MSME, Export promotion. Sehgal has a proven track record of handling PR and Information that is why he was equally strong during Samajwadi Party’ and BSP’s tenure. Now Awasthi is left with the affairs of Home, Visa/passport, Jail Administration, UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA), etc.
Further, Sanjay Prasad (IAS:1995:UP), Principal Secretary to CM, has been given additional charge of the Information Department.
Manoj Kumar Singh (IAS:1988:UP, ACS Social Welfare, was given Horticulture Department. Babu Lal Meena, Principal Secretary, Horticulture, was given the additional charge of Social Welfare.
Saroj Kumar (IAS:2008:UP) has been made MD Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam and Special Secretary (Technical Education).
