with-khattar-and-barala-at-helm-haryana-bjp-needs-no-enemy Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has proven beyond doubt that his political conduct is not bound by the 'Maryada' (rules of personal, social, and political conduct) of Sanatan Dharma. So no one was taken by surprise when on Sunday, August 7, he ruled out the resignation of state BJP chief Subhash Barala whose son was arrested for stalking a woman, saying the father couldn't be punished for son's action. The question is whether the son stays with his father or not. If Vikas Barala, the offender, does share the roof with his parents, the state BJP President can't be absolved entirely of the crime committed by his son. However hard Khattar may try, he isn't going to escape the blame, much less the political cost. Whatever his equation with the Sangh, the latter may not be amused by Khattar's technical defense of Barala. Not only Varnikan Kundu, the girl who was stalked, has shown an exemplary courage by taking to FB and posting the details of what happened on the night of August 5/morning of August 6, her father Varinder Singh Kundu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt., Haryana, Tourism Department, like every honorable father, has come out in open to take his daughter's battle further. Of course, Khattar can't understand a father's feelings. Like many of his mentors and supporters, the world begins and ends with them. The following is the FB/whatsapp post, reportedly shared by Varinder Singh Kundu: "I would like to share with you all a horrendous experience we went through last night. My daughter Varnikan was returning home around midnight yesterday in her car when a  pipe of goons started following her in a tata safari. This started at 12:15 am in sector 7 market. They tried to block her car at the traffic signal, but she showed the presence of mind and sped away. They chased her and blocked her way time and again. She again maneuvered away. She called the police while driving and informed them. The goons continued to chase her and attempting to block her for a few kilometers. She sped thru all red lights but had to stop at a signal as there were cars stopped there. She swerved thru the traffic and the stalkers followed her brazenly. One of the goons jumped out and tried to enter her car. She somehow maneuvered an escape while honking continuously. Police guys from a PCR ran to apprehend the goons. They called us, and we went to the police station in sector 26. The filing of the complaint and their medical examination etc took four hours. But the FIR was finally lodged and the goons arrested. Chandigarh police were pretty efficient and helpful. They intercepted the goons, were responsive to Varnika's distress calls and were neutral in filing the complaint. We are thankful that she survived
