The I&B Ministry has reportedly dissented on a Prasar Bharti proposal for extending the services of its chairman's adviser Sai Srinivas. This is said to have prompted Srinivas to quit his post. This is among the several issues that have come to plague the relationship between the Ministry and Prasar Bharti. One of the major bones of contention is the Ministry's desire to trim the size of the high-paid staff in line with the government's policy to cut the operating cost of the public broadcaster.
