CHENNAI (12.06.2026): The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on June 10, 2026 told the Madras High Court that the Tamil Nadu government had promoted seven IAS officers of the 1995 batch to Chief Secretarygradewithout the approval of the Central government.
Additional Solicitor GeneralAR L Sundaresan informed the court that the Centre would initiate necessary action with respect to the promotions given to the seven IAS officers -- M A Siddique, R Jaya, P Senthilkumar, Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, T Udhayachandran, Hitesh Kumar S Makwana and B Chandra Mohan -- without its approval.
