3123New Delhi (07.02.21): Ahead of assembly elections, West Bengal Government effected a major reshuffle of IPS officers on Saturday abd appointed Soumen Mitra (IPS:1988:WB) as the new Police Commissioner of Kolkata. Anuj Sharma (IPS:1991:WB), has been made the Additional Director General of Police, the state CID, replacing Mitra’s position. Jawed Shamim (IPS:1995:WB), has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Law & Order, of West Bengal Police, taking over from Gyanwant Singh. Ajay Kumar Nand (IPS:1996:WB), has been named as the new commissioner of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate; Supratim Sarkar will take over as the Bidhanagar Police commissioner; C Sudhakar will take charge as the chief of Howrah Police Commissionerate. The EC had stipulated that no officer should be in the same post for more than three years during polls.

New Delhi (07.02.21): Ahead of assembly elections, West Bengal Government effected a major reshuffle of IPS officers on Saturday abd appointed Soumen Mitra (IPS:1988:WB) as the new Police Commissioner of Kolkata.
