The
night after every higher educational institutions were supposed to be opened
for academic activities after CAA protests forcing the government to close
them, violent attacks by masked goons in the JNU campus has once again vitiated
the environment in the educational institutions with Left, Right and Centre
blaming each other for this incidence. But one thing is for sure that violence in
universities across country are instigated by politicians. There
is a big question mark over the administration for failing to deal with this
stalemate while both parties, ruling and opposition, are accusing each other of
instigating students. Violent protests have gripped almost the entire country
and the administration dealt with them sternly and gradually protests petered
out. But now a fresh protest. Irrespective
of political blame-game it is all ruining the image of a rising ‘New India’ for
which the NaMo government has put in lots of efforts to become a reality that
started with his historic speech at Madison Square in the US. However, the opposition
parties have nothing to lose, NaMo led BJP needs to give a rethink how to
handle this impasse and save the image of the country. (By Rakesh Ranjan)
