Raipur (24.09.2025): Vikas Sheel, a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh. He will succeed the current Chief Secretary, Amitabh Jain (1989), who is set to retire on September 30, 2025.Prior to this appointment, Vikas Sheel was on central deputation and serving as the Executive Director (India) at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila. He has been recalled to take on this new role. His career has included various key positions both at the state and central levels, including stints as a District Collector in several districts of Chhattisgarh and as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.ALSO READ

Prior to this appointment, Vikas Sheel was on central deputation and serving as the Executive Director (India) at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila.
