New Delhi (15.10.2024): Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai has
taken charge as Director General of Medical Services (DGMS) (Navy) just weeks
after the Ministry of Defence (MoD) appointed the first female officer as
Director General of Armed Force Medical Service. Before taking charge as DGMS (Navy), Vice Admiral Sahai was the
first woman commandant of AMC Centre and College, Lucknow. She is also first
woman officer to be elected as Col Commandant of the Army Medical Corps. An
alumnus of the prestigious Armed Force Medical College, Pune. Vice Admiral
Sahai is specialist in pathology and super specialised in onychopathology from
the AIIMS, New Delhi.
