UPSC: Chairman Dr Soni demits office today, Preeti Sudan to succeed

New Delhi (31.07.2024): After a tumultuous phase of revelations on fake certificate row UPSC is all set to see a change of guard today. President of India accepted the resignation of UPSC Chairman Dr Manoj Soni w.e.f. 31.07.2024 and simultaneously appointed UPSC Member Preety Sudan (Retd IAS: 1983: AP) as new Chairman w.e.f. 01.08.2024. As per the terms of the appointment Mrs Sudan (32nd Chairperson) will hold the position for nine months i.e. up to March 29, 2025.It may be underlined that Dr Soni had on 04.07.2024 resigned from the coveted position citing personal reasons. Mrs Sudan will be 32nd Chairperson of UPSC who served as Union Health Secretary during the Covid -19 pandemic. ALSO READ
