New Delhi (20.07.2024): Amid 'fake certificate' saga Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) chairperson Dr Manoj Soni has resigned on personal grounds almost five years before his tenure ends in 2029. Dr Soni joined the Commission as a Member in 2017. He was sworn-in as the Chairperson on May 16, 2023. Dr Soni  is the 31st chairman of the UPSC. He succeeded Pradip Kumar Joshi.

It is worth underlining that it is for the first time a UPSC Chairman has resigned.
