'Indianmandarins' has reliably learnt that A K Jain (IPS:1979:UP), the incumbent DGP of UP who is scheduled to complete his extended tenure on June 30 is all set to get further extension for another three months. Starting his stint as UP DGP on February 01 he was scheduled to retirement on March 31 but he got three months extension ending June 30. Probably Jain is the first DGP in UP to get extension in service.
Jain is the second DGP in a row whose extension of service was recommended by the state government. His predecessor AK Gupta, who retired on January 31, was also looking for an extension but the Centre didn't give its nod.
In case the fresh buzz proves to be true Jain will serve as DGP of UP till September 30.
