New Delhi (05.11.2021): There seems to be a growing feeling in the UP BJP that Priyanka Gandhi may be denting into their women and youth vote bank instead of SP's. Even though the Congress Party is seen to have lost much of its base, in the tough assembly fight of UP, every vote will count, more so because many of the state ruling party's erstwhile allies like Omprakash Rajbhar have ditched it and are now in alliance with SP or Behen Mayawati. To compensate for vote loss on account of its erstwhile allies leaving it for better bargains, the BJP has been reportedly trying rather discreetly to court influential Muslim leaders. How far this effort may win the party support from Muslim voters is yet uncertain. This uncertainty, coupled with the perceived erosion of its support base, may have woken up the BJP leadership to the threat of Priyanka nibbling away at its support base.
