top-police-officers-conference-briefs-pm-narendra-modi-on-national-policingAt the three-day annual conference of DGPs and IGPs which started off at Tekanpur near Gwalior in MP on Sunday, December 7, PM Narendra Modi took stock of the actions taken on decisions made in the last three meetings and exhorted top cops to plug the loopholes in policing the trouble spots of J&K, Northeast, and Naxal-infested areas. In a tweet, the PM said: "Had focused discussions with groups of officers on specific areas of policing and security." He said that there were insightful presentations and fruitful discussions on security apparatus of the country. He further tweeted, "There was also a presentation on the implementation status of decisions taken during the last three years." The three-day conference is being attended by about 250 top officers from state and central police organizations. On the directive of PM Modi, the home ministry has been organizing this conference outside the national capital since it came to power in 2014. The last three conferences were held in Guwahati, Rann of Kutch, and Hyderabad. Addressing the conference, home minister Rajnath Singh said that terror infrastructure in the form of training camps, launch pads and communication stations continued to exist in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The home minister also said, "the neighboring country was leaving no stone unturned to provide all help, including financial, to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and that youths of the state were being instigated against India". Further, the Sashatra Seema Bal website was chosen one of the five best websites among the CPOs in a study conducted by IB over 200 parameters and this result was presented before prime minister Narendra Modi. This result was presented before the PM in the ongoing DGs/IGs conference."
