He was accused of disrupting the festival to help the BJP win the Lok Sabha seat from central Kerala. He was removed as ADGP (law and order) and posted to the Armed Police Battalion in October, 2024. Besides Ajithkumar, S Suresh (IPS: 1995: KL), serving Special Protection Group on central deputation, was also promoted as DGP. And after K Padmakumar’s retirement on April 30, 2025, Manoj Abraham (IPS: 1994: KL) will be elevated to the DGP rank.
