The two important general secretaries in the former BJP president Amit Shah’s team – Ram Madhav and Muralidhar Rao – may not be retained as general secretaries in the new team led by president Jagat Prakash Nadda. The new president is working on the formation of his team with the consultation of the senior leadership of the party but these two leaders will either be made vice presidents or will be given some other responsibilities. On the other hand, former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das is likely to be brought in the organisation as a general secretary.

There is a possibility that the responsibility of media management may be passed on to national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi in view of the health condition of present media cell in-charge Anil Baluni. Trivedi may be given some bigger responsibility as he has been handling the media the best possible way. He was very articulate in Parliament debates. Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha may also be brought in to the organisation as he has the experience of working with the present president. Chances of present national secretary Sunil Deodhar being elevated to the general secretary is discussed in some quarters.

Sources said that Rao is almost certain to be made vice president but uncertainty still prevails over the fate of Ram Madhav. Some say that he might be sent back to the RSS as former organising secretary Ram Lal. However, both the leaders were not only hoping Rajya Sabha but also ministerial berth. One important inclusion in the organisation will be from Tamil Nadu.

In a situation where the BJP is focusing more in the southern states, these leaders failed to deliver especially Rao. Both the leaders belong to undivided Andhra Pradesh. Rao belonging to the present-day Telangana failed to make any mark which is very crucial for the party.
