The fate of Ram Madhav and Muralidhar Rao hang in balance: Churning for a new team continues

The two important general secretaries in the former BJP president Amit Shah’s team – Ram Madhav and Muralidhar Rao – may not be retained as general secretaries in the new team led by president Jagat Prakash Nadda. The new president is working on the formation of his team with the consultation of the senior leadership of the party but these two leaders will either be made vice presidents or will be given some other responsibilities. On the other hand, former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das is likely to be brought in the organisation as a general secretary.

There is a possibility that the responsibility of media management may be passed on to national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi in view of the health condition of present media cell in-charge Anil Baluni. Trivedi may be given some bigger responsibility as he has been handling the media the best possible way. He was very articulate in Parliament debates. Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha may also be brought in to the organisation as he has the experience of working with the present president. Chances of present national secretary Sunil Deodhar being elevated to the general secretary is discussed in some quarters.

Sources said that Rao is almost certain to be made vice president but uncertainty still prevails over the fate of Ram Madhav. Some say that he might be sent back to the RSS as former organising secretary Ram Lal. However, both the leaders were not only hoping Rajya Sabha but also ministerial berth. One important inclusion in the organisation will be from Tamil Nadu.

In a situation where the BJP is focusing more in the southern states, these leaders failed to deliver especially Rao. Both the leaders belong to undivided Andhra Pradesh. Rao belonging to the present-day Telangana failed to make any mark which is very crucial for the party.

RSS: Reshuffle of assignments of senior functionaries

Though the outbreak of COVID-19 has forced to cancel annual Rashtriya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting in Bangaluru but changes in the organisation have been enacted for better functioning. Senior RSS functionaries have been saying that work of the organisation is expanding and 15 lakh swayamsevak will be working across the country. One of the most important change has been appointment of Sunil Ambekar as Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh who was recently relieved from the responsibility of organising secretary of ABVP.

Now, the RSS will have two sah prachar pramukh under Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar who is responsible to interact with media. Undue interference of some of the RSS functionaries in some of the government department have forced some of these changes as the objection has been reaching not only to the RSS top brass but also in the government. K N Raghunandan has been sent to Vidya Bharati.

Outgoing prant pracharak of Kanpur Sanjay Mishra has been sent to Itihas Sankalan Samiti which works in the field of History while Mukul Kanitakar’s responsibility remains unchanged but now he will be able to assert more as he is directly associated with education. J Nandkumar is also expected to get some responsibility in Kerala sooner or later. Several Prant Pracharak and Kshetra Pracharaks have been changed

PM meets 18 Lok Sabha MPs individually: Larger significance?

By IndianMandarins 06 Mar 2020

Has PM Narendra Modi taken matters related to West Bengal Assembly elections in his own hands? Meeting all 18 Lok Sabha MPs from the state individually appears a signal of sort. Political experts say that this is an attempt of giving a clear message that the BJP would contest Assembly elections of West Bengal with its full strength to change the government?

In one of the meetings with MPs of the state, the PM told one of them that winning West Bengal Assembly election is not like any other Assembly election rather it is important for the nation. Union Home minister Amit Shah will be spending two-three days every month in West Bengal. He has already started addressing pro-CAA rallies and PM is also having various programs in the state.

Sources said that for Sangh Pariwar having control over bordering state with huge infiltration coming in is of paramount importance. After winning Assam BJP aims at West Bengal where allegedly huge number of infiltrators have settled and incumbent Mamata Banerjee not taking any remedial measure to check the phenomena.

Reportedly, the PM is asking MPs about the aspiration of people, organisational requirement and governmental assistance. The new team under J P Nadda will have a representative from West Bengal besides the possibility of one more induction in the council of minister if reshuffle or expansion happens. But PM monitoring the situation will keep others on toes.

RSS’ next target?

By IndianMandarins 05 Jan 2020

RSS wants to do away with the word ‘secular’ from the preamble of the Indian constitution. Some people feel that this is an attempt to make India a Hindu nation but the RSS has its own logic behind this argument. Still, a section feels that CAA, triple talaq, Ram Temple, NRC, NPR, the promise of the Uniform Civil Code and proposed population control bill is simply furthering the agenda of the RSS by the Modi government.

RSS leader J Nandkumar feels that secularism is a western concept that came into existence to fight papal dominance in governance and to get states rid of the shackles of the church that the situation does not exist in India.

The matter of world secular was discussed in the Constituent Assembly debate but was opposed by Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Krishna Swami Aiyar and it was not included in the constitution. “But Constitution was bulldozed by Indira Gandhi in 1976 to include world secular. It was done to harm Hindutva,” he added.

RSS chief and JUH chief likely to share dais soon!

By IndianMandarins 19 Nov 2019

It is not that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will have only close door meetings with Jamiat Ulama e Hind chief Arshad Madani and many other senior leaders of the RSS will meet Muslim leaders and scholars separately but grapevine is abuzz that he would share dais with him as well very soon. This exercise yielded results post Ayodhya verdict to let peace prevail in the country.

It is learnt that Bhagwat was supposed to participate in the centenary celebration of Darul Uloom, Deoband in Saharanpur but due to announcement of by-elections in Uttar Pradesh so the plan could not materialize but it is not yet shelved. He might share dais with him on some other big occasion.

There had been more than one meeting between Bhagwat and Madani in the prevailing situation when there was the possibility of Hindu-Muslim clash in the country.

Crouching tigress’ hidden agenda: Didi meets PM

By IndianMandarins 19 Sep 2019

Creating narrative and ground reality are two equally important things and ‘Didi’ appears to understood it very well. At least meeting of the WB CM Mamta Banerjee with the PM Modi and agreeing to meet Amit Shah suggests so.

Mamata might have been able to address a section of her voters in West Bengal but constantly being at the loggerhead with the Centre did not produce any good to her.

In fact, Didi’s one of the dearest projects lying with the home ministry has been changing name of West Bengal to Bangla. On the other hand It is believed that the moment name change takes place memory of partition of Bengals fades away which Sangh Pariwar doesn’t endorse. This has apparently been the reason that Mamata needs to meet Shah which she might have agreed reluctantly.

But the issue on which Didi failed to get approval from a leader like Rajnath Singh, getting approval of Amit Shah will be an onerous task. Let’s see how long this bonhomie continues as Shah does not give any concession to opposition.

Khemka pooh-poohs Haryana govt's pallbearers

By IndianMandarins 06 Mar 2019

The great Sangh Parivar and its equally great leaders have done great harm to their credibility by proving beyond doubt that their mental makeup is no better than those of the dynasts and their sycophants in dealing with honest officials like Ashok Khemka, Sanjiv Chaturvedi and a host of others.

While Sanjiv has engaged in legal battles so-called nationalists pretending to be hawkers of Hindutava, Khemka has openly ridiculed their might. In a Tweet on Tuesday, he pooh-poohed the pallbearers of the Haryana government on his sixth transfer.

He wrote: “Whose interests do I protect? Yours or the people's you claim to represent? It's your arrogance that you will trample me under your feet. With pleasure, I have suffered repeatedly, let it be once more."

The 1991-batch IAS officer's tweet came two days after his transfer from a 15-month posting in the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, headed by mercurial state minister Anil Vij.

In his 27 year's long career, Khemka has been transferred 56 times - a world record. Before being transferred to the Sports and Youth Affairs Department in November 2017, he held the charge of principal secretary in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.

Even at that time, he had taken to Twitter after the transfer order was issued. "So much work planned. News of another transfer. Crash landing again. Vested interests win. Deja vu. But this is temporary. Will continue with renewed vigor and energy" Khemka had tweeted then.
