BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra though appears smooth
so far but it has the potency of volcanic eruption with Thackeray scion Aditya
Thackeray jumping into the electoral battleground. Though his father and Shiv
Sena supremo Udhdhav Thackeray has announced that he is not in the race for the
post of CM and deputy CM of the state but it was intriguing to say that a Shiv
Sainik would be the CM one day. Thakereys have indicated well that their massbase and
temperament equips them to be the first family and first party to rule
Maharashtra. However, the only problem is that Modi-Shah duo has eaten into the
vote bank of most of the regional parties including their own allies. The Shiv Sena understands that they are not as strong as they
used to be at the time of Bala Saheb Thackeray who was the real king maker and
had unconditional huge support base in his pocket borough. So the Shiv Sena is
trying to emerge strong in the state but of no avail so far. On the other hand BJP under the leadership of its chief
minister Devendra Fadnavis is getting stronger by the day which reflected in
the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He has the credit of managing many tricky issues
with full dexterity making him a taller leader not in the party but also among people
of the state. So far he has been able to manage his allies in the state but
attempt will be made to install a Thackeray at the helm of Maharashtra but time
will tell its success and failure and also an interesting development to watch
for.
